Unlike his first book, this is not a guide. It’s a throwback to the great, family-read-aloud epics we used to devour—think Holes, Watership Down, The Outsiders, Charlotte’s Web. It follows a trout, a troubled boy and a cast of hilariously vexed (talking) animals who attempt to stop a river from being dammed, in order to save their ecosystem.

It’s a story about how saving nature is, ultimately, how we save ourselves.
