Orders

Can I put my delivery on hold?

Yes, simply log in to your account and put your order on hold as needed. You will not be charged while your account is on hold, unless your balance reaches $0, when it will automatically renew for the number of shares you chose.

How do I change my subscription?

Simply log in to your account and change your order, schedule, or location.

I’m having a dinner party, can I make a one-time order for more fish?

Absolutely!  Log in to your account to view the web store where you can order one-time additional shares of your subscription or something new. It will be at your pickup alongside your usual package.

How do I make a request?

Here's how: login to your account and navigate to the STORE button where you can see add-on options including your special request. Be sure to make your request by 3pm on either Monday (for Wednesday deliveries) or Wednesday (for Friday deliveries).

How do I cancel?

Please reach out before your last delivery to notify that you would like your auto-renewal removed so that you will not be charged. Simply send us an email and we will accommodate you.

Your advance purchase of seafood allows us to anticipate orders and make future commitments with our fishermen, and shares are non-refundable. If your extenuating circumstances make this impossible, please reach out to fish@seaforager.com and we will consider your refund request. 

When is my credit card or electronic check charged?

Members sign up for a minimum of 4 deliveries at a time, or max of 52. Your payment method will automatically renew when your balance drops to $0. If you ever have any questions about your account, just contact us.

What if I’m allergic to shellfish?

Opt for the slab, which is strictly fillets of fish.

How does the web store work?

Log in to your account and pick up one-time additional order of extra seafood, make a request, buy a cold pack, or a gift certificate to Sea Forager Seafood. It will be next to your regular package. Additional orders will be charged to your payment method on file.

What is the difference between Track 1 and Track 2?

The different tracks are just our way of keeping track of people who start on different weeks. So someone who started one week would be track 1, and someone who starts the following week would be track 2.  It does not impact the type of seafood that is offered, since we don't know what it will be until the day before anyway.

How do I sign up for a cold pack?

Depending on the length of your commute you may want to purchase a Sea Forager Cold Pack, which will insulate your seafood for the trip home. Log in to your account and buy it in the web store.

Can I give a gift subscription?

Absolutely! Log in to your account and purchase a gift certificate for a friend.


Delivery

Home delivery: how does it work?

We offer door-to-door delivery in San Francisco for a $12 delivery fee. Simply log in, and click "change delivery" to **DELIVERY** and send us an email with delivery instructions and whether you have a small cooler you can leave out or if you'd like to purchase one for $15. The delivery window is 11-5pm. 

Do I need to be home when it is delivered?

You do not need to be home to receive delivery.  Leave out a cooler or bag and we'll put your fish bag inside, or get a Sea Forager fish bag! Simply send us an email with instructions on what to do if you are not home when we deliver (ex: leave with neighbor or colleague).  You can also leave instructions on if and how you would like to provide a service key if you want to do so.

Can I change my pickup location?

Yes, just log in to your account and select your preferred location. You can put your account on hold for just one week or however long you need to accommodate your travel schedule. You will not be charged when your account is on hold. You will receive a confirmation email of your hold, please confirm the dates you selected are correct.

What if I’m allergic to shellfish?

Good question! Sea Forager Seafood adheres to the most conservative definition of sustainability. It’s a fascinating conversation, and one that we’re passionate about. Check out our criteria here.

What if I’m not a very experienced cook? How should I prepare the fish?

Delicious, fresh seafood requires less fuss! Check out the Fishwife’s Kitchen for a variety of recipes to make the most of your seafood.

I’m feeling adventurous, but how do I process whole fish?

If you don’t get a fillet, rest assured that members receive links to videos showing how to scale, skin, gut, fillet, or stuff your seafood. This will be included in the detailed email on the day of your delivery.
